How it works

Three steps. Five minutes.

1Connect

Get everything in one place

Your money's probably spread across a few apps. Everyday banking in one, KiwiSaver in another, maybe some shares or a loan somewhere else. Otto pulls it all into one simple view.

Link all your accounts in one place
2Build the habit

Small steps lead to big progress

Every couple of weeks, Otto checks in on your progress. Keep your balance moving the right way and your streak ticks over. Miss one, and it's easy to pick back up.

Turn those small wins into a habit to get big results over time.

FAQ

Questions, sorted.

Otto's core features are completely free. Link your accounts, earn tokens, and start making progress without spending a cent. Otto Plus is $5 a month (or $48 a year) and unlocks unlimited accounts, Savings Stacks, subscription tracking, and more. Both plans come with a free trial.

Every couple of weeks, Otto checks in on your balance. Keep it moving in the right direction and you'll hit a checkpoint, earn tokens, and add to your streak. The longer you keep it going, the more you earn. A few surprises along the way too.

Tokens are how Otto rewards you for making progress. Earn them by hitting checkpoints, building streaks, and keeping your goals on track. Spend them on rewards inside the app (cash, prizes, and more) whenever you feel like it.

Otto connects your accounts through Akahu, New Zealand's trusted open finance provider. Setup takes about two minutes. Your banking login never leaves Akahu, and on Otto's side your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

No. Otto is not a financial services provider or a financial adviser, and nothing in the app is financial advice. Otto helps you see where you stand and build better money habits. Every decision about what to do with your money is yours to make.

A Wellington-based team with 50+ years of combined experience across finance, tech, and design. We loved Bonus Bonds. When it closed, we wanted to bring that same feeling back, so we built Otto.

We're working on it! A native app for the App Store and Google Play is on the way. In the meantime, Otto works beautifully in your mobile browser. Save it to your home screen for an app-like experience.
